Preparing for Worship This Sunday

November 18, 2011

Please make plans to join us for our worship services this coming Sunday, November 20th. Our Morning Worship Service is from 11am-Noon and our Evening Worship Service is from 6-7pm. We also have Sunday School classes for all ages from 10-10:45am. We have no greater duty or privilege than to worship God, and so it is good to prepare well for worship. One way you can do that is by reading through this week’s bulletin in order to begin focusing your heart and mind on worshipping God.

In the Morning Worship Service we will center our focus around theme of giving thanks to God, particularly for the redemption from sin we have through faith in Jesus Christ. We will look at four beautiful stories about redemption and thanksgiving from Psalm 107 , and we will enjoy a special music presentation by a group of Korean Presbyterians who will be worshipping with us.

In the Evening Worship Service we will sing and pray together, and then the children will be dismissed to nursery and classes while the adults conclude their study of the book of 1 Peter. Please come and be encouraged by God’s promise to “restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish” us as His suffering people!

Sunday is the Lord’s Day, and he has designed this day for our benefit as we enjoy rest from our work and the worship of God with his people. We hope you will take advantage of this coming Sunday at First Presbyterian Church, and that you will enjoy the life-giving rest for your soul that is only found in Jesus Christ.
