Helping Korean Presbyterians

October 30, 2011

The First Presbyterian Church of Pooler has been approached by a local group of Korean Americans who desire to join a more conservative Presbyterian denomination. Our Elders have unanimously voted to allow them to begin meeting in our facility.

In order for the two congregations to get to know one another, a joint fellowship meal has been planned for Sunday, Nov. 6th at 6:00 pm. Please make plans to join us. Ham and drinks will be provided. There is no cost for the meal. Instead you are encouraged to bring a salad, side dish or dessert.

Their pastor, Rev. Cheol Kim, and a ruling elder named James Rim will be speaking at the meal.

This is a picture of Rev. Kim, his wife Young Bok, and their children.

The hope is that God will use this partnership to not only establish a solid, Christ-centered ministry to Korean speaking people in the area, but also help us as a congregation to be more missions-minded.
